The Giardino boys Great Grandfather Ernesto "Jack" Benvenuto was born to an unwed mother in a convent in Sicily. He was given the last name "Benvenuto" which means "Welcome" in Italian, by the nuns who placed him into foster care. He eventually married Susanna Benvenuto and embarked on a journey to America where they were welcomed and started a family of builders. Lou and Carl Giardino grew up pulling nails from salvaged lumber and cleaning brick for "a penny a piece", in the Benvenuto Salvage Yard. Like their entire family, they were raised with environmentally sensitive values. They continue to practice those values over 60 years later!
The Giardino Boys grew up with building and construction all around them. It seemed natural that they would follow in the footsteps of their ancestors and join the family business. In 1973, while both Lou and Carl were in college, a tragedy occured. Their father was killed in a car accident. Their lives immediately speeded up and they were completely immersed into the family business. They never looked back. 50 years later, they have expanded their reach across the country to become a State of Arizona B-1 General Contractor.
